ict@innovation – Creating Business and Learning Opportunities with Free and Open Source Software in Africa is a joint capacity building project in the area of innovative information and communication technologies through Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) implemented in Southern and East Africa from 2008-2010. TERM
One year of initial contract (1/1/2010-31/12/2010)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and implement the ict@innovation programme activities on FOSS certification and achieve the ict@innovation Pillar B programme targets;
- Work toward a long term strategy for spreading FOSS certification throughout Africa;
- In collaboration with global certification entities, and in consultation with FOSSFA members and project partners, compile and make available the needed training materials for key FOSS certificates

The Web Developer will be accountable to the Senior Web Developer.
Responsibilities

Develop modern dynamic websites and other web-enabled applications

Update and maintain existing websites and applications for ZAMNET and customers

Creating and designing of Online banners
-
Work with other sections in pursuing web related business opportunities

Provide technical support by responding to incoming enquiries through email and telephone on issues related to web services in a professional and timely manner
-
Manage customer web accounts on Web servers

Help in day-to-day maintenance of ZAMNET Web servers
Minimum Job Requirements
-
Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies
-
Must have experience working with modern web authoring tools such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Joomla, Mambo, Drupal, CGI, PHP, MySQL, etc

Must have working knowledge of Linux operating Systems
-
Certificate in graphic design will be an added advantage

One year working experience in a web designing environment

Ability to engage with potential customers and convince market solutions effectively

Good communication and interpersonal skills
